The Nigerian Navy is the maritime component of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is responsible for defending the country’s maritime borders, ensuring maritime security, and supporting national defense efforts.
Nigerian Navy is hereby accepting applications for special Enlistment into the organization through the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) course 29.
The online registration starts on 27th December 2023 and closes on 7th February 2024.

1. Medicals Field
a. Medical Officers/Dental Surgeons
Requirements
- All Applicants should possess MBBS or MBBCh and BDS respectively.
- Applicant must be fully registered by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
- Must have a current practicing license.
b.Pharmacy
Requirements
- All Applicants must possess a bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy.
- An Applicant be fully registered with its council in Nigeria.
- Must have a current practicing license.
c.Medical Laboratory Science
Requirement
- All Applicants must possess a bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
- An Applicant must be fully registered with its council in Nigeria.

d.Radiographer
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Radiographer
- Must be fully registered with the council in Nigeria
- must have a current practicing license.
e.Physiotherapy
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or BMR(Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation).
- Must be registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Registration Board of Nigeria(MRTB)

f.Optometry
Requirement
- Must possess a Doctor of Optometry
- Must be a fully registered, optometrist
- Dispensing optician by the Optical Council of Nigeria

g.Medical Records/Health Information Management
Requirement
- All Applicant must possess BSc/HND
- Must have a current practicing license.
h.Clinical Psychology
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a BSc in Clinical Psychology and Applied Psychology.
- Must register with its council in Nigeria
- Must have a current practicing license.
i.Biomedical Engineer
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a BSc/HND in Biomedical Engineering
- Must have a current practicing license.
j.Public health officer
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a BSc/HND in either Environmental Health or Community Health Information and Education.
- Must be fully registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria(EHORCON)
- Must have a valid current license.
k.General Nursing/Midwives
REQUIREMENT
All applicants must possess BNSc RN and RM with a current practicing license.
NOTE: Post-basic qualification in any of the following fields will be an added advantage
- Accident and Emergency Nurse.

l.Social Welfare Officer/Nutritionist
- All applicants must possess a BSc in Social welfare/Nutritionist
- Must have a current practicing license from relevant regulatory bodies.

m. Occupational Therapist
Requirement
- All applicants must possess a BSc in occupational therapy.
- Must be registered with the relevant regulatory bodies.

2. Engineering
Applicant must possess B.Sc or B Eng qualifications in the following fields
a. Control Engineering.
b. Naval Architecture/Ship Design.
c. Marine Engineering (Mechanical).
d. Marine Engineering (Electrical).
e. Mechatronics Engineering.
Membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) will be an added advantage.
3. Information and Communication Technology
Applicant B.Sc/ B.Tech/ B.Eng in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with relevant qualifications in:
a. Networking and Network Administration.
b. Programming and Software Development.
c. Server and Database Administration.
d. Cyber Security.
e. Computer Forensics/Digital Investigation.
f. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Certification in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
4. Legal Service
Applicant must possess LLB and BL. LLM in International Maritime Law, International Law, or Forensic Law is an added advantage.
GENERAL INFORMATION TO APPLICANT WHO WISH TO APPLY FOR THE NIGERIAN NAVY RECRUITMENT
General Information to applicants who wish to apply for the Nigerian Navy recruitment
1. Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
2. Applicants are warned against giving false information or tendering fake certificates. Any false information or fake certificates discovered at any stage will lead to disqualification and subsequent prosecution of the applicant.
3. Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of First Degree and Upper Credit for HND holders. Computer literacy will be an added advantage in all fields.
4. Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
5. Applicants who obtained credentials from foreign institutions should ensure the certificates are authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Education and copies of all certificates are to be submitted at chosen aptitude test centers.
6. All applicants must present an O’level West African Examination Certificate (WAEC), in addition to any other results such as NECO. Credit in Mathematics and English is compulsory.
7. An NYSC discharge certificate or letter of exemption from NYSC is a compulsory requirement for enlistment.
8. Male applicants must not be less than 1.68 meters tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.65 meters tall.
9. Applicants should be between 22 and 28 years of age by 25 March 2024. Except Medical Officers who should not be more than 30 years.
10. Serving personnel, Soldiers/Rating/Airman and other paramilitary services personnel must obtain a letter of attestation duly signed by the heads of their units.
11. Applicants will be shortlisted for a qualifying aptitude test. The date and time of the aptitude test will be communicated via the Nigerian Navy website

13. Applicants are to appear for the Aptitude Test with the following:
a. Photocopies of Degree and NYSC Discharge Certificate.
